Bulha is a charming spot in Porto with a cozy atmosphere and genuinely friendly service. The dishes seem fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, with the seafood standing out as a real highlight. It’s a great place to relax after a day of shopping, and you can count on the food that arrives at the table to taste great.
There are, however, a few small areas where the experience could be even better. It would be helpful if the kitchen were a bit more flexible with side options — for example, allowing rice instead of fries for certain dishes. Dessert could also be elevated by serving ice cream on top of the brownies, which would make an already good treat even more elegant. Additionally, the waiting time, especially when it comes to bringing out desserts, could be improved to keep the flow of the meal smooth.
Even with a few small areas for improvement, Bulha remains a delightful place for a relaxed, flavorful meal in Porto and easily earns a solid four‑star rating.
Enjoy it!

A fabulous restaurant, easily one of the best spots in Porto.
The food is delicious and beautifully prepared, and the staff is wonderful.
Reservations are almost mandatory since it’s in such high demand.
5 stars simply isn’t enough!

This is the absolute best meal that I have had since I got to Portugal. It is a small joint where you might have to share your table and you can leave your marks on the walls, but that is exactly what makes this cozy little place unique aside from the fast and attentive services.
Everything aside, the food here is phenomenal, I am not sure how they punch out those great comfort dishes from that tiny little kitchen in the back but I will say one thing, I will fly here anytime just to eat here again.
The garlic shrimp that we had was one of the best that I have had, the garlic flavor was just right, not overwhelming the large prawns, which were cooked to perfection, tender. It is cooked in a shell broth with some white wine, some chive, simple yet elegant. The pork knuckle over rice was unbelievable. The pork was super tender, you know it was braised and simmered in all the goodness for hours when you can easily bite through the bone tips and all of the cartilage and connective tissue are melting soft. The flavor was simple, you can taste everything the way they should be. The best part was that they use the same pork broth to cook the rice that comes with it, adding some bacon and sausages. The greens that was added changes the texture of the dish, perfect compliment. I would love to come back here to try the other dishes in the future.

Probably the best dinner we’ve had… EVER! Wow, the service and food were both wonderful.
The vibe was friendly, welcoming and fun (they give you pens to write a goodbye message on the wall when you have finished your meal).
Loved the wine recommendation.
Food: We shared various things. I’ve eaten octopus all over Lisbon & Porto but here, the octopus salad starter was NEXT level amazing. I’ll be dreaming about it for days! The pork dish was divine. Even the side dish of salad was beautiful and not just a basic side – it was a beautiful tasting dish in itself.
I could have eaten a whole plate of the salad alone and still felt so satisfied. Loved that the food was perfectly seasoned and we didn’t feel anything needed salt. Equally, nothing was over seasoned which we have often felt after dinners elsewhere in Portugal. The chef is a star.
Wish we had found this wonderful restaurant on our first night, not our last.
GO THERE. You won’t regret it.
