What a terrific spot. Firstly the front of the house staff are great. Caring, real and super nice. You watch them interact and create a connection with all guests. The food was outstanding. Burrata salad and octopus salad to start. The octopus salad had an egg white vinaigrette dressing that was so delicious. We shared a tomahawk steak cooked to perfection with fresh curries, rice and beans. Finished with a small delicious dessert. Thank you so much, very memorable dinner.

Badio gold was worth the evening thanks to great atmosphere and a service staff that made us feel very welcome. Early seating since we had just flown in on the red eye made it very relaxing. By the time we left the place was full and the staff was too busy for chit chat

Food was great but a few items stood out as excellent while others were only so-so:

Northern Surprise sausage meatballs stuffed with cheese were a 10+. The peach gel beneath was the perfect Touch of sweetness to complete a perfect bite.

The Gizzards was a solid second as were the Argentine Prawns in whiskey sauce.

Of our three entrees, the Marbled Tomahawk was the absolute best. A steak cooked to perfection with a great sear on all sides and still rare in the middle. Sliced by the chef and served on a wooden slab, it was more than enough for two to share. (Tip: the middle was very rare even though we ordered medium, so take this into account when selecting your temp – we wanted medium rare and probably would have been right on target at medium well)

Our other choices were less impressive. The Iberian pork was solid but uninspired. And the Gratinated codfish was marginal – too oily , served on over worked mashed potatoes, and under a too rich and too sweet sauce, it left me wishing I’d ordered the tomahawk as well!

A Hidden Gem in Porto – Exceptional Food, Service & Value at Badio Gold

During our recent trip to Porto, we were lucky enough to discover Badio Gold, tucked away on Rua de Sá de Noronha. From the moment we stepped inside, we were impressed—not only by the stylish, intimate atmosphere, but also by the warmth and professionalism of the staff.

I ordered the 600g marbled Angus sirloin, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. Perfectly cooked to my preference, the meat was incredibly tender, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. It’s a generous cut, ideal for serious steak lovers, and without doubt one of the best I’ve ever had.

My wife opted for the mushroom risotto, and it too was excellent. Creamy, rich, and packed with earthy flavour, it struck the perfect balance between comfort food and gourmet dining. She was equally delighted and nearly reluctant to share a bite!

We were also impressed by the drinks menu, which offered a great variety of options and was excellent value for money—especially considering the high standard of everything on offer. Whether it’s local wine or something stronger, you’ll find quality choices that won’t break the bank.

To finish, we shared the chocolate petit gâteau with vanilla ice cream, and it was to die for. Rich, warm, and indulgent with a perfectly gooey centre, paired beautifully with the smooth vanilla ice cream—an absolute must if you have a sweet tooth.

What really elevated the whole experience was the knowledgeable and attentive staff. They clearly take pride in what they do, offering thoughtful recommendations, explaining the dishes with genuine passion, and making sure we were looked after from start to finish.

Badio Gold is a real standout. If you’re in Porto and appreciate quality food, great value, and impeccable service, don’t miss this place.

Five stars all the way. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in the city.

We went as soon as they opened and luckily were seated straight away, the restaurant was full shortly after. Excellent service by Alex who offered us a brand new cocktail to try before our food came, which was delicious.
We got the tomahawk steak and 3 starters to share between 3 people and it was more than enough! The staff were very accommodating with our requests, offering to cook the meat longer or replace options if needed. The food and drinks were all gorgeous, I highly recommend the tomahawk steak! Maybe share with someone though! 10/10
