Since 2013, at Muro dos Bacalhoeiros, we offer a gastronomic experience inspired by Portuguese cuisine, in a space with one of the best views of the city.
Between traditional and original, we create dishes that respect national heritage and others that have become house references, such as codfish skin chips or our version of golden codfish.
Each recipe is designed to provide the perfect balance between flavor and the privilege of the location.

I recommend going here a bit earlier than the dinner rush or you will need to queue. This restaurant has been running for years my partner came here 8 years ago and remembered it and wanted to go again. The food tasted great, delicious flavours and cooked to perfection. We asked the waiter for recommended wine with our food and it matched really well. They serve fish, pork, beef and a mushroom dish.

Thank god for a rainstorm or else I wouldn’t have found this hidden gem in Porto! Came here after searching for a place to eat during a heavy rainstorm and stumbled upon this place at around 8:30pm because it was the only place where I didn’t have to wait in line for. It’s a cozy location by the riverside with a great outside view, as well as a cool inside view too. The codfish here is the freshest in Porto (Bachalau is codfish in Portuguese after all). What I especially like about this place is that it serves Portuguese food with a modern twist. We ordered the codfish rice, codfish Porto style, and for appetizers, the codfish crackers (which is fried codfish skin) and codfish stew. Every one of these dishes was very flavorful and tasted amazing. The service was super friendly too! The waiter provided us with lots of great recommendations! Come to this place if you want the best codfish in Porto!

I had the cod crudo and the cod fried skins, with the homemade lemonade. It was delicious, and the view was gorgeous. No noise, fast service. I totally recommend.
If you want to eat outside, note that the tables outside are tables for 2.
They offered a to-go box for my cod skins !

I stopped in for a fast early dinner. The restaurant was peaceful and quiet,the staff was very welcoming and gentle. The standout was definitely the codfish skin crackers . They were so unique and crispy, a delicious surprise!!!!!!!
I also tried the Alentejana soup with cod, which was tasty.
Definitely pricey but tasty!

Amazing experience overall. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff was very professional and attentive, and the restaurant itself was beautiful. I really enjoyed the calm, quiet atmosphere. It made the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommended.
