In a parallel to Av Liberdade, Browns hotel restaurant, Avenida, offers a good steak menu with a representative wine card, at city prices with extensive service in a beautiful high ceiling and green ambiance.
We were a couple for dinner that chose the tasty couvert, a braised tuna with a light polenta, a good burger, with a great Dão redwine, a delicious tiramisu, waters and coffee for €70/pax.
My partner had originally chosen the picapau but was surprised by the English sauce as it was not mentioned in the menu and the staff immediately changed it; rare exceptional service indeed.

Had lunch at Avenida on a Thursday, curious to try this new place and I can tell you it has become one of my favorite restaurants from the last months!!
We tried the lunch menu available + the deserts and everything was truly incredible. I had the best Bacalhau à Brás I’ve ever tried and my partner the Bitoque, which was super tender and very well seasoned.
We enjoyed the meal so much we decided to try the Tiramisu and the Chocolate Mousse; the tiramisu was soft and balanced, and the mousse was the perfect amount of sweet with a little bit of crunch on top.
The service was great and the place has a really nice setting! Honestly, I feel like it was the full package

Hidden in the heart of the city, this restaurant feels like a secret garden. It’s hard to believe such a peaceful little jungle exists in the middle of all the noise. The lunch menu is an amazing deal at only 19€ for a starter and a main dish. Both dishes we tried were absolutely delicious. The bitoque was perfectly cooked and tender while the bacalhau à Brás was bursting with flavor and perfectly seasoned. The staff were genuinely sweet and attentive, constantly making sure everything was perfect.

The sauce of the bitoque is absolutely amazing! The staff were so kind and even gave us bread so we could finish off the sauce, it was so good.
A fancy restaurant, so was pleasantly surprised by the price of the lunch menu for 19.90 euros and you can choose from 2 traditional Portuguese dishes: Bitoque or Bacalhau à Brás as well as a salad to start. We tried both and would definitely return as the quality was very good.
Lovely interior as well, only thing is that we almost walked past it as the signage outside is quite low key!

I had a wonderful experience at Avenida Restaurant & Bar. We went for the executive menu and chose the steak (“bitoque”), which was absolutely delicious – homemade, perfectly cooked, and the sauce was just incredible. The starters were divine, especially the bread, and the portions were so generous we didn’t even manage dessert.
The place itself is beautiful and very cozy. We also visited the hotel and rooftop, which is small but well designed and offers an amazing view.
Overall, a charming spot with great food and atmosphere – highly recommended!
