Our origins
The history of Lusoviagens is a testimony to perseverance, friendship and passion for making every trip an unforgettable experience. The story behind Lusoviagens is a beautiful tale of a friendship that turned into a life project. In 2004 and 2005, just after the Internet bubble burst, e-commerce was beginning to show its reliability, and many online sales projects were springing up, especially in the tourism sector.

At that time, two young Portuguese men, one from Lisbon and the other from Madeira, met at a large company selling airline tickets online. After working together for several months, a friendship and a shared business vision was born. Although they were very different people, they both shared the same vision: to make travellers experience and share all of Portugal's cultural riches and Portuguese-influenced destinations.

For weeks, they kicked around a possible business project and materialised it in 2008, just before the subprime crisis. They weren't soothsayers, and the beginnings weren't the best, but through effort and sacrifice, they managed to overcome the challenges and move forward. They started out as freelance travel agents and, as their portfolio of products and clients grew, they officially founded the company Lusoviagens in 2011.

Since then, Lusoviagens has taken more than 10,000 travellers to explore the world, overcoming 2020 and the COVID-19 health crisis, and introducing new products every year. Currently, one of the founders resides in Portugal to streamline operations, while the other is in Spain, the agency's main market. In 2012, in its first year of continuous activity, Lusoviajes incorporated coach tours around Europe, which have since become one of its main products, along with Portuguese cultural destinations.
